Statement of Faith

Serve406 exists to unite churches around a common love for Jesus Christ and His call to love our neighbors. While our collaboration includes a diversity of theological beliefs & spiritual practices, we are united in a common faith in the person and message of Jesus Christ as the Savior of the World. Our Statement of Faith expresses the core beliefs that form the foundation of our partnership. Everyone is invited to participate in a Serve406 Day. We ask that our church partners, local committee members, and our project leaders be in alignment with our Statement of Faith as follows:

  • We believe the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is inspired by God and is the supreme and final authority for faith and conduct.

 

  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

 

  • We believe that out of the overflow of God’s love, that He sent His Son, Jesus, to be the Savior of the World.

 

  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, being fully God and fully man.

 

  • We believe the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross and in His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. In His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His current ministry as Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate, and in His personal return in power and glory.

 

  • We believe God made man in His image that He might have fellowship with him. Being estranged from God by his disobedience, sinful man is incapable of a right relationship to God apart from divine grace.

 

  • We believe that the only mediator between God and man is Jesus Christ and that salvation is received only by grace through personal faith in Christ.

 

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

 

  • We believe God’s redemptive purpose will be consummated by the return of Christ to raise the dead, judge all people, and establish His glorious kingdom.

 

  • We believe in the abundant love of God for His people (Rom 8:37-39) and the spiritual unity of believers in Christ. That God, by His Word and Spirit, calls us as sinful people into the fellowship of Christ’s body. He thus established one holy church, united in the bonds of love, endowed with the gifts of the Spirit and summoned by Christ to preach the Gospel, to carry on the ministry of reconciliation, and to be his hands and feet to the world around us.
